Kitchener Rangers News Release
Kitchener, Ont. - The Kitchener Rangers returned the favour to Owen Sound tonight, handing them their first loss of the season in a tightly contested game at The Aud. Kitchener kept Owen Sound off the board at even strength, but the Attack used their top two ranked power play to keep the game from getting out of reach.
The East Avenue Blue found the back of the net first just four and a half minutes into the game through Luca Romano's second of the season. Pierce Mbuyi would get his first-of-two in the game to knot the game at 1-1. Christian Humphreys opened his scoring account for the 2025-26 season to restore the Kitchener advantage followed by Cameron Arquette's third of the season with 36 seconds on the clock to send the Rangers to the locker-room up a pair after 20.
The teams traded goals in the middle frame with Christian Humphreys and Pierce Mbuyi both recording their second goals of the game, and in the final frame, the Blueshirts bent, but would not break, allowing a 5-on-3 goal which brought Owen Sound within a goal, but they would not let them come any further.
Attendance: 6,242
