Oshawa Generals News Release
Oshawa, On. - It is the start of a busy weekend ahead for the Oshawa Generals as they play in three consecutive days. First up: a rematch with the Frontenacs in Kingston; their second meeting of the young season.
The first matchup between the two division rivals saw Kingston score four unanswered in the third period to defeat the Generals in their home opener. Both teams have played two more games since, winning one and losing one.
Oshawa will look to avenge that tough finish against the Frontenacs. The Gens started the game strong, getting glorious chances and not allowing many opportunities the other way, but saw Kingston finish much stronger in the final period to run away with it.
The Generals have not had a lot of luck visiting the Frontenacs in recent memory with seven wins in their last 18 visits to the Limestone City dating back to 2020. Oshawa did, however, take their season opener in Kingston 3-2 last September.
Part of a bounce back against Kingston will include keeping the momentum going on the offensive front. The Gens have gotten four points from Owen Griffin in his first two games back and continue to get contributions from the likes of Luke Posthumus, Sam Roberts, Jalen Lobo and Vadim Smirnov.
After getting Griffin and Zack Sandhu back last week, Oshawa will get some more insurance on the back end with defenseman Haoxi (Simon) Wang set to make his season debut after being sent back from San Jose Sharks' training camp.
Kingston meanwhile is already icing their full lineup with Jacob Battaglia returning from Calgary Flames' camp last week.
The puck drops from Slush Puppie Place at 7:05 pm. Catch the action on Rogers TV, FloHockey or listen on the Oshawa Generals Radio.
