BRIDGEPORT, Conn . - The New York Islanders announced Saturday that forward Tanner Fritz has been recalled from the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In addition, forward Michael Dal Colle has been returned on loan to Bridgeport.

Fritz, 27, recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 17 games with the Sound Tigers this season, including a pair of power-play goals against the Hartford Wolf Pack just 10 days ago. His eight assists rank fourth on the team. In addition, Fritz collected one assist in two games with the Islanders earlier this season after he made the club's 23-man roster out of training camp.

A native of Grand Prairie, AB, Fritz made his NHL debut last season and played 34 games with the Islanders in 2017-18, recording seven points (three goals, four assists). His first NHL goal was scored on Feb. 19, 2018 against the Minnesota Wild. He finished third on the team in scoring and was selected to the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic, but did not attend due to his call-up with New York.

Fritz has 102 points (33 goals, 69 assists) in 134 career AHL games and 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in 43 ECHL contests.

Prior to turning professional, Fritz played four seasons at Ohio State University where he recorded 110 points (36 goals, 74 assists) in 142 NCAA games. Fritz served as team captain during his senior year and as an alternate caption his junior year. During his last two seasons at OSU, Fritz won the NCAA (Big Ten) Sportsmanship Award (2013-14, 2014-15).

Dal Colle, 22, played two games with the Islanders this season after he was recalled on Nov. 15. In the AHL, he has 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 14 games this season and is tied for first on the Sound Tigers in goal-scoring. He also ranks third on the team in points and has five multi-point performances during his third professional campaign. Last season, Dal Colle collected 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) in 60 AHL games and earned his first NHL recall last January, playing four games with the Islanders, including his NHL debut in the club's 7-2 win over the New York Rangers on Jan. 13.

A native of Woodbridge, Ont., Dal Colle ranked fifth on the Sound Tigers in scoring as a rookie in 2016-17, producing 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists) in 75 games. He made his pro debut on Apr. 15, 2016 against the Portland Pirates and scored his first pro goal in just his sixth game on Oct. 21, 2016 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Prior to turning pro, Dal Colle played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Oshawa Generals and Kingston Frontenacs from 2012-16. He earned 316 points (131 goals, 185 assists) and a plus-76 rating in 246 career games, and helped Oshawa win the 2015 Memorial Cup Championship while playing with Islanders prospect Mitch Vande Sompel. The 6'3, 198-pound forward was also named to the 2015 CHL Memorial Cup All-Star Team in 2014-15 and was selected as an OHL All-Star three times.
