Fresno Defeats Grizzlies 3-1

West Valley City, Utah - The Fresno Falcons defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-1 Saturday night at the E-Center.

The Falcons jumped up 1-0 just 1:14 into the game with Dustin Vanballegooie knocking in a rebound on a Tomas Fojtik shot.

In the second, the Falcons got the game-winner from Cory Murphy on the power-play as he fired a shot from the high-slot at 8:36.

Fresno made it 3-0 when Brett Hammond hacked in a shot at 13:21 of the second. Utah responded 21 seconds later with Danny Stewart scoring a similar goal assisted by Joel Irving and Luciano Aquino.

Utah outshot Fresno 45-34 in the game and went 0-10 on the power-play.

The Grizzlies return to action on Monday at 2:05 p.m. hosting Idaho in a President's Day special.
