SERIES HISTORY:
The Condors and Ice Dogs have met five times so far this season, with Bakersfield 4-0-1 against Long Beach. Last night, the Condors tied the game with just 1:19 on a goal by Todd Griffith, but the Ice Dogs won it in a shootout, 4-3.
On Sunday, October 22nd, in Long Beach, the Condors jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads, but ultimately needed a goal in the third to pull out a 5-4 win. On Sunday, November 5th, again in Long Beach, the Condors grabbed a 3-1 lead after one, a 5-2 lead after two, and hung on for the 6-4 victory. At home on Friday, November 10th, the Condors led 2-0, fell behind 3-2, then tied the game on Tyler Scott's goal late midway through the third period and won it in a shootout as Jamie Hodson stopped four of the five Long Beach attempts. Then again at The Nest on December 2nd, the Condors set a team record for goals in a 10-2 rout of the Ice Dogs.
After tonight, Bakersfield and Long Beach will meet twice more, both times at the Long Beach Arena. This will be the 73rd all-time match-up between the Pacific Division foes. Coming into tonight the Condors have a record of 38-23-11 all-time against the Ice Dogs, dating back to the West Coast Hockey League.
