(Florence, KY) - Casey Henn (6-5) went seven shutout innings, Jacob Tanis launched his third home run of the season, and the Florence Freedom (29-42) blanked the Normal CornBelters (34-37) by a final score of 4-0 Saturday night at UC Health Stadium.

It's the fourth shutout of the season for the Freedom pitching staff and only the second time all season the CornBelters have been shutout.

Henn was masterful. The Cincinnati native went seven innings, gave up only three hits, walked three and struck out five to pick up the victory.

Meanwhile the Freedom offense finally got to Normal starter Bobby Shore (3-5) in the sixth inning. With two away Sam Eberle singled up the middle. Tanis followed with a towering home run to left and Florence took a 2-0 lead.

The Freedom added another run in the seventh on a Zak Blair RBI single that scored Doug Joyce, who had doubled to start the frame.

Normal put a scare into the Freedom in the top of the eighth inning as they loaded the bases with nobody out against "Pistol" Pete Levitt. But the hard-throwing right-hander got a strike out and a double play to escape the jam.

Then in the bottom of the eighth Buddy Sosnoskie hit an inside-the-park home run to extend the lead to 4-0. He hit a liner to right that split the outfielders Ozney Guillen and Jhiomar Veras. Both dived for the ball and missed as it rolled away. The throw home was dropped by Normal catcher Tyler Shover and Sosnoskie slid in safely for his third home run of the season and the Freedom's second inside-the-park homer of the year.

Daniel DeSimone worked a scoreless ninth to finish off the shutout.

Florence will play a "day/night" double header on Sunday. First pitch for game one is set for 1:05 p.m. eastern time with Peter Gehle (3-4, 4.41 ERA) on the mound for Florence.
