
Four Rippers Make Frontier League All-Star Team

LONDON, ONTARIO - Four members of the London Rippers will be taking part in the 2012 State Farm All-Star Game in Normal, Illinois.
The Frontier League announced the official East and West Division rosters this morning.
Rippers' first baseman, Joash Brodin will start for the East team. Brodin continues to lead the Frontier League in hitting at .389. He is tied for the team lead in homers with 7 and his 39 RBIs is 7th best in the league.
Catcher, Jim Vahalik was also selected. Vahalik has a .254 average with 8 RBIs.
Two pitchers also got the All-Star nod; Mississauga native, Jamie Richmond and Yohan Gonzalez.
Richmond owns a 4-2 record and a 2.69 ERA. He leads the Rippers with 63.2 innings and is in the Top 10 in the Frontier League in ERA and strikeouts (50).
Gonzalez enters his start tonight with a 3-2 record and a 2.21 ERA, 3rd best in the League.
The teams were selected by eight representatives from each the organization. Their votes were tallied and the first 24 players for each division were revealed.
The field managers in first place in each division, Traverse City's Gregg Langbehn and Schaumburg's Jamie Bennett will coach the East and West team, respectively. The two managers will select the final three players per division.
The 2012 State Farm Frontier League Home Run Derby will be held on July 10th, with the All-Star Game being played on July 11th .
