Evansville Otters News Release

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - Otters pitcher Dan Blewett (2-1, 1.06 earned run average) was named to the 2012 Frontier League All-Star game today.

Blewett has been the ace of the Otters staff all year long, striking out a total of 51 batters this season.

"It is an honor to be selected," said Blewett. "I am very thankful to the Evansville Otters organization for giving me a chance this year."

The All-Star game will be held in Normal, Illinois, just a short distance away from Blewett's home town of Bloomington.

"I have a lot of friends and family who will be in attendance," he said. "It will be cool to appear before them as an All-Star."

Blewett pitched for the Normal CornBelters back in 2010, but this is the first Frontier League All Star appearance for the right-hander.

"He is one of the premier pitchers in the Frontier League," said Evansville Otters manager Andy McCauley. "This is well deserved for Blewett even if he may not be able to participate with an injury."

The Normal CornBelters will be hosting to the 2012 Frontier league All Star game at the Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois. This three day event starting July 9th will include a home run derby, All-Star luncheon and plenty of fun for the whole family!
