London Rippers News Release

NORMAL, ILLINOIS - London starter, Jamie Richmond threw a complete game shut out and got plenty of help on offense, as the Rippers completed a season sweep of Normal with a 15-0 victory.

Stephen Cardullo was the offensive hero for London, driving home six runs, four on a grand slam- his 2nd home run of the season- as part of an eight run 7th inning.

Joash Brodin continued his brilliant series with a homer in his fourth straight game, which at that point put London up 4-0.

As a team, the Rippers mashed 15 hits and 7 of the 9 batters in the lineup had an RBI.

Richmond (6-3) put on a stellar performance, striking out six with no walks and at one point retiring 16 CornBelters in a row, as the Rippers ran their winning streak to four games.

London put up four runs in the 3rd inning, thanks to an RBI single from Tyler Hall and a two-RBI triple by Cardullo.

Brodin then crushed a two-run homer, his 11th homer of the year.

Mark Samuelson went yard for the second time this series, for his 7th long ball of the season, in the 7th, increasing London's lead to 7-0.

London would pack on three more runs in the inning on RBI singles by Brad Agustin and Chris Lloyd and a bases walk to Hall before the Cardullo grand slam.

The Rippers start the back half of their six game road trip in Washington tomorrow. Matt Sommo (0-2 2.87) gets the ball for London against Eric Blackwell (3-3 8.00).
