London Rippers News Release

WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA - London (25-34) got a brilliant performance from Brandon Sinnery as he guided the Rippers to a 2-1 win over Washington (23-35).

Sinnery (4-1) went 8.2 innings, giving up only one run on six hits, walking one and striking out a franchise-high 11.

" Our catcher, Jim Vahalik gets the credit today. " Sinnery says " He called a great game and I was able to hit my spots and keep batters off balance. "

For the fifth straight game, Sinnery pitched past the seventh inning and has allowed only 11 earned runs in his last 42 innings.

He was attempted a complete game shut-out, but gave up a two out double and walked the next batter, forcing the Rippers to go to the bullpen.

Tony Delmonico came on for the final out of the game to record his 2nd save.

It was the Wild Things who got on the board first, on a ground out by Robbie Garvey in the 2nd, which scored Rick Devereaux and gave Washington a 1-0 advantage.

London scored their only two runs with two outs in the 5th inning on back-to-back RBI singles from Tyler Hall and Stephen Cardullo.

Chris Smith (6-4) was the tough-luck loser for Washington. He threw seven innings, allowing six hits and two walks, while striking out eight.

London and Washington wrap up their series tomorrow night at 7:05pm. Matt Schimpf (3-5 5.31) opens the game for the Rippers against Casey Barnes (1-5 4.70).
