Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers snapped a 4-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the North Division Rival Johnstown Chiefs in front of 4,364 at the Nutter Center in Dayton Saturday night.

The Chiefs struck first when Shawn Mather opened the scoring just 2:13 into the first period. Bombers captain GRADY MOORE tied the game, 1-1, at 3:43 of the second period, before Mike James gave the Chiefs a 2-1 lead at 6:39 of period two. Then, the Bombers opened the floodgates when TYLER KOLARIK scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season at 9:17 of the second. That was the first of four straight goals for the Bombers, who also set a new mark for most goals in a single period this season with four.

JANNE JOKILA gave the Bombers their first lead, 3-2, at 12:33 of the second period. MICHAEL TESSIER made it 4-2 at 16:53, and newcomer BRIAN RIDOLFI gave Dayton a 5-2 lead at 1:15 of the third period. Goals from Jean Desrochers (3:57) and Joe Tallari (12:39) pulled Johnstown within one, 5-4, but then Bombers goaltender MIKE AYERS took over and stole the show.

Ridolfi took a five minute match penalty for head-butting at 7:28, and Ayers made a number of key saves to help preserve the win. Johnstown outshot Dayton, 35-32. The Bombers improved to 6-7-0 and the Chiefs fall to 5-2-5.
