Former Inferno Player Now With Maple Leafs

COLUMBIA, S.C.-- Former Inferno left winger Alex Foster became the 351st ECHL player to play an NHL game as he suited up for the Toronto Maple Leafs last night in their 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders. Foster, who scored 11 points (one goal, ten assists) in nine games with the Inferno during the 2006-07 season, logged 3:45 of ice time in last night's victory.

Foster, 23, has 56 points (24 goals, 32 assists) and 59 penalty minutes in 121 career American Hockey League games from 2005-06 through 2007-08, all with the Toronto Marlies.

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of Canton, Mich., had 82 points (19 goals, 63 assists) and 73 penalty minutes in 72 games with the Bowling Green Falcons of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association from 2004-05 through 2005-06.

The Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum on Wednesday, March 19 to host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:05 p.m.
