Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Devils today announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Joe Cucci. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Glen Ridge, N.J. native joins Jim Henkel and Matt Radoslovich as Devils who hail from the Garden State.
The 22-year-old Cucci joins the professional ranks with the Devils after playing over 30 games in each of his four seasons with Bentley. He places in the program's top 10 list for most games played in a career.
In his collegiate career, Cucci notched 15 points in 128 games. The defenseman was strongly utilized on the penalty kill for the Falcons.
Cucci, who stands at 5'11", 195 lbs, started his high school career in New Jersey. Playing for Hudson Catholic, he won the state championship as a freshman.
He then moved on to Connecticut to play for New England prep Avon Old Farms, winning the team's Brian Leetch Award in his junior and senior years as the squad's best defenseman. In 2004, he led the team to the New England Championship and was honored as Connecticut's best defenseman at the 2004 Hockey Night in Boston.
The Trenton Devils will start a two-game home stand against the Wheeling Nailers at Sovereign Bank Arena tomorrow, March 20 at 7:00pm. Tickets for the game are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
