June 14, 2011 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster moves today:

Right-handed pitcher Kyle Lotzkar has been promoted to Dayton from Billings (Pioneer League).

Right-handed pitcher Jason Braun has been promoted from Dayton to Carolina (Southern League).

Right-handed pitcher Daniel Tuttle as been assigned from Dayton to the Cincinnati Reds extended spring training camp in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Dragons roster is now at 24 players, one below the Midwest League limit.

Lotzkar was the Reds second supplemental first round draft pick and their third overall selection in 2007 (catcher Devon Mesoraco was the Reds first round pick and infielder Todd Frazier was their first supplemental first rounder that year). He pitched for the Dragons in 2008 before a serious of injuries that have kept him out of action for most of the past two and one-half seasons. Lotzkar suffered a broken elbow with the Dragons in 2008 and then underwent "Tommy John" reconstructive elbow surgery in 2009 and did not pitch. Last season, he compiled 44.1 innings at the short-season level and will start tonight's second game of the Dragons doubleheader at Fort Wayne, making his first appearance in a full-season league since August of 2008.

Despite the injuries, he was rated as the #10 prospect in the Reds organization entering this season by Baseball America, making him the third highest rated prospect on the current Dragons roster behind Billy Hamilton and Yorman Rodriguez.

Braun has appeared in 17 games (all in relief) for the Dragons this season. He is 0-0 with a 3.25 earned run average. This is his second promotion to Carolina.

Tuttle has made 11 starts for the Dragons this season, going 4-3 with a 4.87 earned run average.

The Dragons play a doubleheader at Fort Wayne tonight at 6:20 p.m. (WONE 980 AM).

The Dragons next home game is Friday, June 17 vs. the Lansing Lugnuts. The Dragons' consecutive game sell-out streak is at 805, nine games short of the all-time sports record. For information on lawn tickets and group seating options, call (937) 228-2287.
