Florida Panthers Acquire RW Krys Barch & 2015 Seventh Round Pick from New Jersey

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired a RW Krys Barch and a seventh round selection (previously held by St. Louis) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for C Scott Timmins and Florida's sixth round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Barch, 33, has played in 326 NHL games with Dallas (2006-2011), Florida (2011-12) and New Jersey (2012-13), recording 31 points (12-19-31) and 713 PIM. The Hamilton, Ont native skated in 22 games and posted 44 PIM with the Devils during the 2012-13 season.

The 6-foot-1, 237-pound winger recorded five points (2-3-5) and 91 PIM in 41 games with the Panthers during the 2011-12 season after being acquired on Dec. 7, 2011 along with a sixth round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for RW Jake Hauswirth and a fifth round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was a member of the Panthers 2011-2012 Southeast Division Championship team.

Barch was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the fourth round (106th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
