Columbus Assigns Eight to Springfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Saturday the assignment of eight players from the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate.
The following eight players have been assigned to the Falcons: forwards Michael Chaput, Ryan Craig and Jack Skille, defensemen Cody Goloubef, Ilari Melart and Will Weber, and goaltenders Mike McKenna and Jeremy Smith. Craig, Goloubef, Skille, McKenna and Smith were placed on waivers by Columbus for the purpose of being assigned to Springfield.
The Falcons have one more pre-season contest, set for Sunday, September 29 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack. The game will be held at the International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury at 2:00 p.m.
Springfield opens the regular season at the MassMutual Center Saturday, October 5 versus the Manchester Monarchs. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Fans are invited back to the MassMutual Center in 2013-14 to watch the reigning Northeast Division-champion Falcons compete in their 20th anniversary season. Adult season-ticket packages start as low as #13 per game.
