Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has announced that the Comets have added defenseman John Negrin to the roster after the Vancouver Canucks released him from his tryout contract. Negrin, 24, split the 2012-13 season with the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves and Lake Erie Monsters, as well as the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. Between his two AHL stops, Negrin registered five points in 18 games (2-3-5) while he collected another nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 44 ECHL contests. The 6'2", 202-pound native of Vancouver, British Columbia has appeared in 127 career AHL games with the Abbotsford Heat, St. John's IceCaps, Wolves, and Monsters. Over his four professional seasons he has compiled 30 AHL points (7g, 23a).
