SAN ANTONIO - Chris Ferraro set a franchise record with the game's first goal and rookie goaltender Josh Tordjman kept the Rampage alive with 38 saves as San Antonio downed the Houston Aeros 3-2 Friday night at the AT&T Center.

The win marks the Rampage's 11th game scoring the initial goal and the first time which San Antonio maintained the lead throughout the game.

Playing in only his third game, Ferraro set a new franchise record scoring 25 seconds into the game when he redirected Keith Yandle's shot on Houston netminder Tony Quesada. Ferraro's second goal in as many nights eclipsed the previous record set on Jan. 24, 2004 at 28-seconds into the game.

Ferraro maintained the energy, along with Nick Martens, as the two assisted on rookie Bill Thomas' ninth goal of the season at 4:49 to give the Phoenix Coyotes affiliate a 2-0 cushion.

Mattias Weinhandl was the only Houston player to find the back of the net as the Aeros peppered Tordjman with 40 shots on the night. Weinhandl's first goal cut the deficit in half midway in the opening period at 11:29.

Rampage veteran Pascal Rheaume attempted to tie Ferraro's benchmark early in the second giving San Antonio a 3-1 lead just 31 seconds in the period.

Weinhandl punched in his fourth goal of the season in a failed attempt to rally Houston back with 3:05 remaining in regulation.

The Rampage improve to an 11-20-1-1 record and will close out 2006 at the Toyota Center Saturday night against the Houston Aeros at 7:35 p.m.
