Ferraro Named Captain Of National Conference All-Star Team

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced today that the team captains for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be Peter Ferraro of the Las Vegas Wranglers for the National Conference and John McNabb of the Texas Wildcatters for the American Conference.

Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on January 23rd with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on January 22nd.

The alternate captains will be Darrell Hay of the Idaho Steelheads and Ash Goldie of the Victoria Salmon Kings for the National Conference and Jamie Milam of the Gwinnett Gladiators and Aaron Slattengren of the Augusta Lynx for the American Conference.

Ferraro, Milam, McNabb and Slattengren are all making their first-ever All-Star appearance and start. It is the second consecutive appearance and start for Hay, who was captain for the National Conference in 2007, while Goldie was selected for the 2006 All-Star Game but was unable to play because of an injury.

Ferraro will be joined by Wranglers Head Coach Glen Gulutzan, who will lead the National Conference for the third straight year (an ECHL record for appearances). Goalie Daniel Manzato and defenseman Tyson Strachan will also participate in the Chase Chevrolet 2008 ECHL All Star Game.

Las Vegas heads out on four-game road trip starting Friday, January 18th at 7:00 pm in Bakersfield. Las Vegas will stop in Stockton for two games and one in Utah before returning home on Saturday, January 26th to host Utah at 7:05 pm.

Individual game tickets are now on sale. Fans may purchase tickets on the Wranglers team website at www.lasvegaswranglers.com or the Orleans Arena website (www.orleansarena.com). Fans may also purchase tickets at any of the following locations in the valley: Galleria Mall, Orleans Casino showroom box office, Gold Coast Casino showroom box office and the Suncoast Casino showroom box office. The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
