ELMIRA, NY - The Wheeling Nailers fell behind in the opening two minutes of the game and never recovered, falling to the Elmira Jackals 8-1 Friday night at First Arena. Pierre-Luc Faubert and Frankie Littlejohn each scored twice as the Jackals moved into a tie for first place with the win.

Littlejohn's first of the night set the tone just 1:38 into the opening period. He was left alone in front and took a feed from Brett Pilkington and put it over the glove of Martin Houle for his 13th of the season.

Elmira used two power-play goals to get their eight-goal total and the first one turned out to be the eventual game winner. Jeremy Swanson had only been in the penalty box for seven seconds when Jim McKenzie redirected a Luke Fulgham shot out of mid-air and into the net.

Chaz Johnson, just returned from call-up from Binghamton, added to the Jackals' lead with his 13th of the season and forth in the past two games.

Wheeling's lone goal came on a five-on-three advantage at 17:22 of the first. Aaron Clarke, who had just drawn the penalty, chipped a rebound over Joel Martin to get the Nailers on the board at 3-1.

The Nailers finished the night 1-for-4 on the power play while the Jackals added their second PP goal in the third to end the night 2-for-4.

Faubert and Fulgham added second period goals including a shorthanded marker at 19:19. Faubert and Littlejohn added their second of the night in the third sandwiched around Trevor Hendrikx third of the year.

The two teams will meet up again on Saturday night at 7:35pm.
