
Sea Wolves skin the gator, knock off Everblades 4-3

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves continued their winning ways in the month of January with a 4-3 win over the Florida Everblades at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Friday.
Florida got out to an early lead when Kirk MacDonald followed the rebound of Preston Callander's shot and drove it into the back of the net at the 11:42 mark of the first period. David Cornacchia would add to the Florida lead when his shot hit Sea Wolves goaltender Ryan Munce, fluttered int eh air and wound up trickling into the net at 16:20. Torry Gajda got Mississippi on the board with 57 seconds remaining in the first period when he banged home the rebound of Kyle McAllister's shot.
The Sea Wolves evened the score at two when Travis Lisabeth scored his 10th goal of the season at the 1:37 mark of the second, bouncing a shot off of the skate of Florida's David Shantz and into the net. Lance Monych's team-leading 17th goal of the season, a wrist shot into the top of the net, beat Shantz to give the Sea Wolves a 3-2 lead at the 4:15 mark of the second frame.
Brett Peterson would draw Florida even at three when his point shot beat Munce through traffic at 2:39 of the third period. Kyle McAllister potted his fourth game-winning goal of the season when he cut out the front of the net, drew Shantz down to the ice and fired the puck past him at 16:19.
