Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons signed right winger Jan Sochor today, who was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Sochor represented his native Czech Republic at the 2000 World Junior Championships and played the past seven years in the Czech Elite League before a brief stint with the Central Hockey League's Oklahoma City Blazers this season.

With the arrival of Sochor, Fresno also waived right wing Kris Porter, who suited up last night to help with the team's injury-depleted offensive corps in the Falcons' 4-2 win over the Victoria Salmon Kings.
