BOISE, Idaho – Ryan Moren scored the game-winning goal with 2:36 left in regulation as Alaska never trailed in a 4-3 victory over West Division leader Idaho in front of 5,007 Saturday at the Bank of America Centre.

Alaska opened the game's scoring on the power play at 12:41 of the first period, as Scott Gomez worked the puck along the boards to Cal Benazic, whose drive from the point squirted through the legs of Idaho starter Colin Zulianello. Scott Burt tied the game with 8:57 having elapsed in the second period, scoring off the rush with a slap shot from the top of the circle that beat Alaska goalie Peter Aubry cleanly. But three minutes later, the Aces regained the lead at 2-1 when Gomez snapped home a rebound for his second goal of the season after hitting the crossbar with a wrist shot earlier in the period.

Brett Draney deadlocked the contest at 2-2 by finishing off a two-on-one situation with 11 minutes left in the third period, but Alaska again responded quickly, with Talbot scoring off a beautiful pass from Gomez at 13:25. For the third and final time, Idaho managed the equalizer with 2:58 remaining, as Warren Peters buried a rebound after a scramble in front of the net. 22 seconds later, Talbot found just enough room around Steelheads defenseman Jonathan Zion to slip a cross-ice pass to Moren, who stuffed the puck past Zulianello to give the Aces their first win in four games at Idaho this season. Aubry picked up the win in net with 28 saves as the Steelheads outshot Alaska 31-21. The Aces jumped into a second-place tie with idle Bakersfield at 9-7-1 overall, one point off the division lead.

Alaska and Idaho (10-5) will meet for the final time in Boise during the regular season tomorrow night at 5:05 p.m. ADT, a game that returns to the flagship station KFQD 750 AM and also will be made available on a pay-per-view basis at www.alaskaaces.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
