Johnstown Chiefs News Release


Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs snapped a three game winless streak Friday night, as they defeated the Toledo Storm 3-2 at the War Memorial in front of a crowd of 3,104.

The Chiefs jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a Steve Hildenbrand first period power play goal. Joe Tallari and Shawn Mather added third period tallies. Maris Ziedins and Reggie Savage scored for the Storm who lost for the first time in four games.

Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 18 saves for his 4th win of the season. Scott Fankhouser made 28 saves for Toledo.

The Chiefs improve to 6-3-6 on the season. Toledo is now 8-4-4.

The Chiefs are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7:00 p.m. Next Saturday night, December 4th, Dale Jarrett's #88 U.P.S. car and Elliott Sadler's #38 M&M car will be on display behind section 9. Also, December 18th will be the annual Johnstown Chiefs/Power 99 and U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Toy Toss. All fans are encouraged to bring a stuff toy to the game and when the Chiefs score their first goal, throw them onto the ice!
