Fresno Falcons News Release
Las Vegas, Nevada - The Fresno Falcons forced overtime with a late third-period goal, and won in overtime for the second straight game, defeating the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-2 in front of 4,747 fans at Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas scored the only goal of the opening period at 7:53. Adam Cracknell's initial shot was stopped by Jake Moreland, but Tyler Mosienko picked up the rebound at the top of the crease and pushed it beyond Moreland's reach for his 11th goal of the year.
The Falcons pulled even just 47 seconds into the second period. John Morlang won a face-off back to Daryl Marcoux at the right point, and his shot through traffic beat goaltender Daniel Manzato high to the stick side for his second goal of the season.
The Wranglers regained their lead in the waning minutes of the period. Josh Sciba skated into the Fresno zone, and flipped a past for Adam Cracknell in the right-wing circle, and he beat Moreland with a wrister over the glove to give Las Vegas a 2-1 advantage heading into the third period.
Fresno forced overtime with a power-play goal at 17:38 of third period. Tyler Kindle's shot from the left point was stopped by Manzato, but Jarrett Konkle poked it home on the far post for his 14th of the year.
The Falcons carried a power play into overtime, and picked up the game-winning goal just 1:04 into the extra session. Matt Stefanishion picked up the rebound of an Oren Eizenman shot at the top of the crease, and put it into an open net to give Fresno its third straight win.
