Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League have announced their team captains for the 2004-05 season.
Wearing the "C" on his chest will be Chad Allan. Allan is an eight-year veteran that brings year's of experience of playing in the best leagues in Europe and in the American Hockey League.
"Chad is everything you expect from a leader," said Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Mark Reeds. "He's a leader on and off the ice and makes the players around him better."
The assistant captains for this year's Kalamazoo Wings will be Andrew Luciuk and Daniel Carriere. Both players are in their second season with the K-Wings. Also, both players wore the "A" for at least part of the K-Wings season last year.
"Like Chad, both Andrew and Daniel have shown a strong leadership quality," said Reeds. "If you look in our locker room we have several players that could have been selected as a captain. While we have chosen three players to fulfill that roll, we expect leadership from everybody.
The first chance to see the K-Wings captains in action will be this Wednesday night, November 24th, as the K-Wings host their arch-rivals the Fort Wayne Komets at 7 p.m. on WRKR Turkey Bowling Night.
