Mallards Stay Unbeaten at Home

Moline, IL – The Mallards won two of three games last weekend to improve to 9-5-1 on the season. The Mallards beat Motor City 2-1 at home on Friday. On Saturday in Rockford, the Mallards dropped a 4-1 decision to the IceHogs. Quad City rebounded to shut out Muskegon 2-0 at home on Sunday. With the pair of home wins, the Mallards are now 6-0-1 at The MARK this season.

· Thursday, November 25, 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Wayne Komets- The Mallards meet the Komets for the first time this season on Thanksgiving Day in Fort Wayne. · Friday, November 26, 6:30 p.m. at the Motor City Mechanics- The Mallards make their first ever trip to the Great Lakes Sports City Superior Arena for a showdown with the Mechanics. · Saturday, November 27, 7:00 p.m. vs. Fort Wayne at The MARK of the Quad Cities-It's Kerry Toporowski Night as the Mallards take on the Komets. The Mallards will retire the #77 in honor of the legendary enforcer. Fans in attendance will receive a Kerry Toporowski DVD courtesy of Hardee's. After the game, the Mallards are hosting a Roast in honor of Toporowski. Tickets for the Kerry Toporowski Roast are $25 with proceeds going towards the purchase of cancer equipment at Genesis. · November 27th is sure to be one of the most memorable dates in Mallards history. Kerry Toporowski will have his #77 jersey retired as the Mallards take on the Fort Wayne Komets. A Kerry Toporowski DVD will be given away to fans courtesy of Hardee's.

· Following the game on November 27th, the Mallards are hosting a Roast of Kerry Toporowski. Join the team, as they take their shots at one of the most notorious pranksters in team history. The Mallards make their first trip of the season to Fort Wayne. The Mallards hold a 21-15-3 all-time record vs. Fort Wayne. The Komets are 8-6-1 this year and sit in fourth in the Western Division.

Friday, November 26 at Motor City

The Mallards visit Motor City for the first time ever this Friday. The Mallards won 2-1 in a shootout in the teams' only previous meeting. The Mallards trailed 1-0 late in the third period before Mike Kompon scored his second pro goal with 3:31 left in the period.

Saturday, November 27 vs Fort Wayne at The MARK

The Mallards return home for a rematch with the Komets on Kerry Toporowski Night at The MARK.

Stew is Simmering

Dave Stewart has scored in each of the Mallards last four games. The Antigonish, Nova Scotia native has a goal and three assists during that stretch. The scrappy forward has two goals and three assists for five points on the season.

Reynaert Earns First Shutout of 2004-05

Jeff Reynaert enjoyed a spectacular week in the Mallards net. He stopped 18 of 19 Motor City shots before leaving the game with six seconds left due to illness. Reynaert returned on Sunday to shutout the league's second best offense, the Muskegon Fury. The Sterling Heights, Michigan native stopped 37 shots on his way to recording the Mallards first shutout of the season.

Nadeau Returns

Sixth-year Mallard Patrick Nadeau returned to the line-up on Saturday night in Rockford. Nadeau missed the Mallards first 13 games after off-season surgery. On Sunday, Nadeau recorded his first point of the season when he assisted on a Drew Otten goal. Nadeau's helper gives him 240 points in 274 games with Quad City. Nadeau is tied with Mark McFarlane for fourth on the team's All-Time Scoring List.

Friday, November 19-Motor City 1 at Quad City 2 (Shootout)

The Mallards used late game heroics from Mike Kompon to secure a 2-1 shootout win over Motor City on Friday. After two scoreless periods, Motor City's Brad Cruikshank opened the scoring with 13:01 left in the third period. Kompon tied the game for the Mallards with 3:31 left. Kompon's second pro marker sent the game to a shootout. In the shootout, Kompon and Greg Barber scored for the Mallards as the team improved to 2-1 in the extra frame. Kompon's regulation goal was reminiscent of his first pro goal vs. Flint on October 16th. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native scored with 1:35 left to tie the Generals before the Mallards won in a shootout.

Saturday, November 20-Quad City 1 at Rockford 4

Dave Stewart opened the scoring with his second goal of the season 17:03 into the first period. The Mallards held the 1-0 left into the second period. Rockford scored three unanswered goals in the second before adding an insurance marker in the fourth. Chris Gobert scored on the power play with 11:20 gone. The goal was the first power-play marker allowed by the Mallards since November 6th. The Mallards killed 24 consecutive penalties before Gobert's goal.

Sunday, November 21-Muskegon 0 at Quad City 2

Jeff Reynaert recorded the first Mallards shutout of the season after stopping 37 shots vs. Muskegon. With the win, Reynaert improves to 6-3-0 on the season. Greg Barber and Drew Otten scored the Mallards goals as the team remained unbeaten (6-0-1) on home ice.

Player of the Week

Dave Stewart is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. Stewart scored in each of the Mallards three games this week. On Friday and Sunday, Stewart had assists in Mallards victories. On Saturday, he recorded the Mallards only goal in a 4-1 loss at Rockford.

Goaltender of the Week

Jeff Reynaert is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. Reynaert stopped 55 of 57 shots over the weekend. On Friday, Reynaert turned aside 18 of 19 Motor City shots before leaving the game with six seconds left. On Sunday, he earned the Mallards first shutout of 2004-05 with a 2-0 win over Muskegon at The MARK.
