IceHogs overtake top spot in UHL

The Rockford IceHogs shut down the Muskegon Fury and Quad City Mallards during Week 6 of the United Hockey League season, taking over the top spot in the league. Goaltender Michel Robinson shined in between the pipes allowing just a pair of goals in the two games, picking up both victories. The Hogs end their six-game homestand this week with games against Kansas City on Wednesday night and Missouri on Friday.

Transactions

-Defenseman Eric Skaug was placed on team suspension on Monday, November 15.

-Goaltender Michel Robinson was called up to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Thursday, November 18.

-Robinson was returned to Rockford on Friday, November 19.

-Defenseman Tim Wedderburn was called up to the Chicago Wolves (AHL) on Friday, November 19.

-Rockford signed winger Ricky Reznick on Friday, November 19.

-Rockford claimed winger Brent Sullivan off waivers from Flint on Friday, November 19.

Bacon Bits:

The IceHogs are unbeaten in eight straight games (6-0-2), dating back to 11/6/04.

Goaltender Michel Robinson is unbeaten in his last eight games (5-0-3), has a goals against average of 1.63 and a save percentage of .943.

Robinson stopped a season high 19 shots in the third period during Saturday's 4-1 win over Quad City.

In his last three games, defenseman Nathan Lutz has 2g-3a-5pts and is a +8. Lutz is third among UHL d-men in scoring and leads the circuit with six goals.

Every active skater on the IceHogs roster has a plus/minus of even or better.

The IceHogs are 6-0-0 on Saturday's this season and are also 6-0-0 on the second game of back-to-back games.

Rockford is also a perfect 6-0-0 against the UHL's Central Division this season.

Rockford is nine games over .500 for the first time in franchise history.

The Hogs end their six-game homestand this Friday against Missouri and will play nine of the following 14 on the road.

Hot Hog: Week 6

Center Miguel Lafleche: Another week, another player stepping up for the IceHogs. Rookie center Miguel Lafleche scored four goals, including all three of Rockford's tallies in the Hogs 3-1 win over Muskegon on Friday night and had a plus/minus rating of +4 for the weekend. Lafleche filled in at the center position for the injured J.C. Ruid over the weekend.

Upcoming Games:

Wednesday, November 24 vs. Kansas City. Start time is 7:05 p.m. The Outlaws return to the MetroCentre for the IceHogs traditional Thanksgiving Eve game. Purchase a ticket and bring a non-perishable food item to the game, and receive a free $7 ticket to the December 1 game vs. Fort Wayne.

Friday, November 26 vs. Missouri River Otters. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Otters open up a home-and-home series at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Smash Hit Hockey T-shirt courtesy of Swanson Discount Vacuums, Blackhawk Communications, Edgebrook Center, 13WREX and Q98.5 FM

Saturday, November 27 at Missouri River Otters. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Rockford and Missouri close out Week 7 with the back end of their home-and-home series. It's Rockford's second trip of the campaign to St. Charles and fifth meeting of the season overall.

Game Rescheduled:

The IceHogs game scheduled for Sunday, November 28 against the Kalamazoo Wings has been switched to Sunday, December 12 at 3:05 p.m. All tickets purchased for the November 28 game can be used for the December 12 game. If you have any questions contact the IceHogs office at (815) 986-6465.
