Port Huron Flags News Release

In Brief

· 11/17: Third Meeting with the Wings This was the third meeting between these two clubs with Kalamazoo winning the two previous match-ups. It was all Kalamazoo as they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and eventually lead after two periods 3-1. The Beacons cut the lead down to one as David Beauregard (7) scored in the third with assists by Malcolm MacMillan (6) and Rico Fatticci (4). Also scoring for the Beacons was Malcolm MacMillan (4) assisted by David Beauregard (5) and Andrew McPherson (2). Stu Dunn replaced Daniel Berthiaume after the first intermission and made 18 saves on 22 shots.

· 11/19: Second Meeting with the Generals The game started approximately one hour late due to a flat tire on the team bus, however, that did not slow down the Generals. The Beacons scored first when Aaron Brand (4) scored off of assists by Andrew Shier (7) and Kory Cooper (1). Flint then went on to score seven out of the next eight goals and eventually won 7-2. Kory Cooper made his return with the Beacons but only lasted into the mid-point of the second period and was replaced due to dehydration by Stu Dunn. Both goalies combined, made 21 saves on 28 shots.

· 11/20: RiverOtters Float into Town The RiverOtters came into town with one of the hottest goalies in the league. Jason Tapp had recorded a shutout in Flint on Wednesday and had 5 coming into the game that night. Nobody told the Beacons; they scored four straight and led heading into the third period up 4-0. Scoring for the Beacons were Ian Jacobs (2), David Beauregard (8), David Wyzgowski (2,3) and Josh Tataryn (7). Assists were tallied by Aaron Brand (7), Tataryn (3), Andrew McPherson (3), Malcolm MacMillan (8,9), Jacobs (6,7) and Shayne Tomlinson (1). Kory Cooper once again played for the Beacons and once again had to leave because of dehydration, he did manage to make 21 saves on 22 shots before departing. Stu Dunn closed the game out with 11 saves on 12 shots faced in the third period.

· 11/21: Outlaws Return to McMorran Arena Joey Sewell played in his second game since coming off the IR, and it is safe to say he had lots of energy. The first two Beacon goals were contributed to Sewell's hard work. He assisted the first goal from Gabriel Proulx (1) along with Andrew McPherson, his first of three on the night (4,5,6). Sewell then scored on the next goal with assists by Ian Jacobs (7) and Chris Slater (3). Sewell then scored late in the first off of assists by Chad Dameworth (4) and Trevor Edwards, his first of two on the night (8,9). The Beacons led after one period 3-2. Just 31 seconds into the second period David Beauregard scored, his first of two on the night (9,10) off of assists by Sewell and McPherson. Aaron Brand (5) scored mid-way through the second with helpers by Edwards and Josh Tataryn (4). The Beacons led after two periods 5-3. Beauregard notched the lone goal in the third period with helpers by McPherson and once again, Sewell. Sewell finished the night with 2 goals and 3 assists and was chosen as the number one star of the night.
