Colorado Eagles News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. -The Colorado Eagles (26-13-0-0) continued their eight-game winning streak with a 4-2 win over the Stockton Thunder (13-26-1-0) at Stockton Arena on Friday evening.
Just 5:45 into the first frame, Eagles forward Trent Daavettila took a set-up feed from linemate Taylor Vause to net the game's first goal and gave the Eagles the 1-0 lead.
Stockton forward Tyler Maxwell netted the game-tying goal from just to the right of Eagles netminder Clarke Saunders' crease, 1-1, 4:48 into the second period.
With Eagles forward Brock Nixon in the penalty box, forward Derek Rodwell tore down the ice and threw a shot on net at the same time Stockton experienced an unfortunate series of events, as the puck bounced off of Thunder forward Vinny Scarsella and into the net to give the Eagles the 2-1 edge, 5:41 into the final stanza.
Halfway into the third period, Stockton defenseman Austin Levi tied the game once more at 2-2 with a power-play goal from the slot. Later in the period, Eagles defenseman Colin Joe caught a great between-the-legs pass from forward Vitalijs Pavlovs to record his first tally of the night and gain the 3-2 advantage over Stockton with just 4:24 left in the third. Eagles forward Kyle Kraemer sealed the 4-2 victory for the Eagles with an empty-netter, his 100th professional goal.
