Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, did not allow a full strength goal until the third period, but Kyle Stroh of the Indy Fuel had a hat trick with four IceMen on the ice to give the Fuel a 4-1 win. Evansville (11-24-3-2, 27 points) outshot Indy 28-21 including a 9-2 advantage in the third period.

Indy lit the lamp first. On a power play, Stroh picked up the puck off of a blocked shot and lifted it into the net to put the Fuel up 1-0.

Evansville outshot Indy 9-8 in the opening period. Mac Carruth turned away all nine attempts to give the Fuel a one-goal lead heading into the first break.

In the second period, Stroh added to the lead. He netted two goals to complete the hat trick. He struck once on a power play and once on a four-on- four to give the Fuel a 3-0 advantage after two periods.

Early in the third stanza, The IceMen power play put Evansville on the board. Colin Murray deflected a Daniel Johnston slap shot past Carruth into the back of the net. Brandon Wong earned his team leading 31st point with an assist on Murray's ninth of the season.

As time dwindled down, the IceMen pulled Chris Driedger to get an extra attacker on the ice. Indy's Garrett Bembridge slid one into the empty net to secure a 4-1 win for the Fuel.

The IceMen return home to face the Fuel tomorrow in the finale of this home-and-home series. Originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, the game has been moved to a 7:15 p.m. start.

It will be a Subway Sunday at the Ford Center where fans can get a ticket, a t-shirt, a popcorn, and a soda for just $19. To book your Subway Sunday package, call an IceMen ticket representative at 812-421-GOAL.
