Colorado Eagles News Release

Eagles Shutdown Condors, 3-1, Raise over $51,000 for Local Boy Battling Leukemia LOVELAND, Colo. -The Colorado Eagles (37-19-0-3) utilized two goals from forward Kyle Kraemer and a brilliant effort in net from goaltender Aaron Crandall to complete the three-game sweep of the Bakersfield Condors (23-26-3-5) Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center. The team partnered with the fans on the 4th annual Pot of Gold Night to raise over $51,000 for Parker Hobbs' family, a local boy fighting Leukemia.

After a scoreless first period, Colorado's power play gave life to the Eagles 4:29 into the second period when Kramer fired a shot past Condors netminder Frans Tuohimaa, trickling its way into the net to give Colorado a 1-0 advantage.

During the Minute of Madness to begin the third period of play, Eagles forward Brock Nixon found a streaking Kraemer on a breakaway, which he would finish over Tuohimaa's left shoulder to give Colorado the 2-0 lead with 19:22 remaining. Bakersfield found the back of the net for the first time in two nights as Nick MacNeil flung home a backhand shot past Crandall, pulling the score to 2-1. With Tuohimaa on the bench, forward Nathan Moon sailed in the game-sealing goal from center ice, giving the Eagles the 3-1 lead and their fourth consecutive win.

After posting a 29-save shutout on Friday, Crandall followed that effort up by stopping 33 of 34 shots thrown his way.
