TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (30-16-8-5) look to bounce back from last night's overtime loss to the Utah Grizzlies (28-21-5-3) in the second of a three-game road series. Utah took a one-point lead in the regular season head-to-head series with the extra point from its overtime win on Friday. The Reign hold a 3-2-1-1 record against the Grizzlies this season. This road series represents the final time during the regular season that Ontario faces Utah at the Maverik Center in the ECHL.
SHUTOUT WOES CONTINUE:
The shutout loss to the Grizzlies on Friday marked a first for the Reign: the first time in the team's history that the club had failed to score in two consecutive matches. Dating back to their last goal on Feb. 22 versus Colorado, the Reign have not scored in their last 132:56 of play.
BELL BOLSTERS BLUELINE:
The Reign received a positive sign yesterday when Zach Bell returned to the lineup after the missing the previous 36 games while on injured reserve. The 22-year-old rookie defender scored the game-winner in the team's first game of the season for his first professional goal.
SPECIAL TEAMS FRUSTRATIONS:
Since Ontario's Feb. 22 game against the Colorado Eagles, the Reign have gone a perfect 23-for-23 on the penalty kill. However, the club has also gone 0-for-15 with the man advantage in that same span. In spite of that drop in production on the power-play, Ontario still is operating at 17.2 percent rate.
