AHL Lake Erie Nabs Forward Kyle Jean

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced center Kyle Jean has been loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. The call-up is Jean's second of the season following an eight-game stint with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) in November.

A third-year pro, Jean ranks fourth on the Road Warriors in scoring this season with 34 points and is tied for second on the club with 21 assists. He added 13 goals, 30 penalty minutes and a +5 rating in 46 ECHL games this season. Jean also leads the team with six power-play goals and four shootout tallies.

The Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan native earned his first call-up to the AHL on Nov. 10th when he was loaned to Charlotte. Jean notched two assists, four penalty minutes and an even rating in eight contests with the Checkers. He was returned to Greenville on Dec. 3rd.

Last season, the 25-year old appeared in 41 AHL games with Hartford and registered four points (2g, 2a) with 29 penalty minutes. He also spent 24 regular-season contests with Greenville and an additional 15 playoff games. During the Road Warriors run to the Eastern Conference Finals, Jean earned 12 points (7g, 5a) including a triple overtime game-winning goal against Kalamazoo in Game 5 of the first round on April 26, 2014.

The 6'4, 203-pound forward began his professional career during the 2012-13 season with the AHL's Connecticut Whale, where he produced 23 points (9g, 14a) in 73 games.

"True Blue Weekend" wraps up on Sunday, March 8th when the South Carolina Stingrays visit Greenville at 3:00 p.m. The Warrior Fun Pack will be available for this matinee game and fans can take part in the final post-game skate with the team this season!
