ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Saturday announced that South Carolina's Scott Ford has been suspended pending a review and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #584, Gwinnett at South Carolina, on March 6.
Ford was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing under Rule #50.5 at 12:34 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Ford will miss South Carolina's games at Gwinnett tonight (March 7) and at Greenville tomorrow (March 8) and any further discipline will be announced next week.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
