
Duran Homers in 10-8 Loss to Bisons

WORCESTER, MA - Jarren Duran hit his first home run since returning to Triple-A, but the Worcester Red Sox (65-62) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (66-60) on Friday night at Polar Park by a 10-8 final.
Buffalo jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run home run from Gabriel Moreno.
Worcester responded with a pair in the bottom of the first. Enmanuel Valdez doubled home Duran. Two batters later, Triston Casas lined an opposite-field single to score Valdez.
The Bisons scored two more in the second inning. Trevor Schwecke drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Otto Lopez hit a double to score another run and give Buffalo a 4-2 lead.
In the bottom of the third, Duran belted a solo home run to center field to make it a 4-3 game. The homer traveled 425 feet and left his bat at 105 miles per hour. Duran went 2-for-4 and scored three runs.
Buffalo scored three times in the fourth and sixth innings to extend their lead to 10-3.
In the bottom of the seventh, the WooSox sent ten batters to plate and scored four times. Abraham Almonte, Jaylin Davis, and Ryan Fitzgerald drove in runs, while Kole Cottam reached on an error with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to 10-7.
Worcester scored another run in the eighth inning when Pedro Castellanos singled home Valdez to make it 10-8.
The WooSox continue their six-game series with the Bisons tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. at Polar Park. Radio coverage begins at 3:45 p.m. on 98.9 Nash Icon and the WooSox Radio Network, while television coverage is live on NESN+.
