Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Fort Wayne TinCaps (affiliate of the San Diego Padres) in the last game of a three-game series. This is game three of a 13-game, 14-day road trip for the Dragons. Current Series: Dayton 1, Fort Wayne 1.

Last Game: Thursday: Fort Wayne 5, Dayton 4. The TinCaps scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to overcome a 4-3 deficit to win. The Dragons had trailed most of the game and were down 3-0 before scoring one run in the seventh and three in the eighth to take the lead. Hendrik Clementina connected on his 15th home run of the season (his third in the last six games) as part of a 10-hit attack. Alejo Lopez and Reshard Munroe each had two hits.

Playoff Chase: The Dragons must finish in the top two among eligible teams in the East Division in the Second Half (six teams competing; Bowling Green and Lansing ineligible). The Dragons currently are the #2 seed in the Second Half race, one-half game behind #1 seed West Michigan, and one-half game ahead of Fort Wayne. The top five teams in the Second Half race are separated by just two and one-half games.

They batted .324 in the four-game series with Lansing ending Tuesday, their highest average in a series in 2018. The Dragons had not hit .300 or higher in any series since May 18-20 vs. Great Lakes, when they hit .320. They are batting .338 in the first two games of the current series at Fort Wayne.
