Dayton Dragons News Release

DAYTON, OH- Fifth Third Field will host 13-year-old cancer survivor DeAmber Snow from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's "Home Run for Life" program when the Dayton Dragons take on the Fort Wayne Wizards on Wednesday, May 17th at 7 p.m.

The Dayton Dragons and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield have teamed up for a third season to showcase the "Home Run for Life" program. This honors individuals who have beaten life-threatening conditions. DeAmber Snow was diagnosed with a brain tumor before her fourth birthday, but despite the illness, a smile never left her face. Now 13 years old, DeAmber's smile will light up Fifth Third Field as she hits a home run for life.

DeAmber will be joined at Fifth Third Field by her parents Donikea and Doniell, her brothers Thelson and Damian, and many of the doctors, nurses, and Anthem representatives that were a major part in her victory over cancer.

During an inning break, DeAmber will take a ceremonial lap around the bases signifying her "home run for life." As she rounds third base, the Dayton Dragons players will be lined up to greet DeAmber as she makes her way towards home plate. Upon crossing the plate, DeAmber will be greeted by Dragons manager Billy Gardner, who will present her with a certificate making her an honorary Dayton Dragon.
