Chiefs-Silver Hawks Rained Out

South Bend, IN - The Monday night game between the Peoria Chiefs and South Bend Silver Hawks at Coveleski Stadium has been cancelled due to rain. Since the two teams do not meet again this half the game will not be made up and will be lost.

The rain out marks the third in what was supposed to be an eight game road trip for the Chiefs. Peoria returns home 3-3 on the Indiana swing to Fort Wayne and South Bend with the final game of each series lost to Mother Nature.

Peoria will host West Michigan at 6:30 PM on Tuesday to kick off an eight game homestand. The Chiefs are 20-16 overall and started play Monday tied for first with Kane County and 2 ½ games ahead of Beloit. Those two squads are scheduled to face each other later this evening in Beloit in the finale of a four game series. Beloit comes to O'Brien Field on Saturday for a four game set against the Chiefs.

Peoria will push back its entire rotation with RH Scott Taylor (1-1) facing West Michigan on Tuesday night. The Whitecaps are expected to toss LH Luke French. Because of rainouts, Taylor as not seen game action since earning his first professional win against Lansing on Saturday May 6th. His scheduled start at Fort Wayne was rained out on Thursday as was his start the next day at South Bend.

Tuesday is Taco Bell Combo Tuesday with a 6:30 PM start. The broadcast begins with the pre-game show on www.peoriachiefs.com at 6:15 PM.
