Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster move today:

Infielder Cristobal Rodriguez has been promoted to Dayton from the Arizona League Reds.

The Dragons roster stands at 24 players, one below the Midwest League limit.

Rodriguez has played in five games with the AZL Reds, based at the spring training complex in Goodyear, Arizona. The AZL Reds began their season last Monday. Rodriguez hit .304, going 7 for 23, with three doubles, a triple, and two runs batted in. Rodriguez, a 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, has played both second base and third base.

Rodriguez fills the Dragons vacancy at the utility infielder position. Shane Carlson, who had filled that role this year in Dayton, was promoted to Lynchburg last Friday.

The Dragons play tonight (Monday) at Fifth Third Field against the Fort Wayne TinCaps at 7:00 p.m. The series continues with games Tuesday and Wednesday, both at 7:00 p.m.
