Dayton, Ohio - Tommy Nurre's two-run double sparked an eight-run fourth inning as the Dayton Dragons defeated the Fort Wayne TinCaps 15-10 on Monday night before a crowd of 9,028 at Fifth Third Field. The win was the Dragons first of the second half after they dropped their first three games over the weekend at Lansing.

The Dragons eight-run inning was their biggest of the season. Trailing 4-0 at the time, Nurre came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out and drilled a hard grounder down the left field line to bring in two runs, and when the ball was mishandled by Fort Wayne left fielder Daniel Meeley, a third run came in. Mark Fleury followed with a triple to center to bring in Nurre and tie the game. Fleury scored on Frank Pfister's single, and two batters later, Ryan LaMarre drilled a double to left field to give Dayton a 7-4 lead. LaMarre scored on Henry Rodriguez's double to make it an eight run inning.

After Fort Wayne's Wande Olabisi connected on a two-run home run in the top of the sixth to make it 8-6, the Dragons answered with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Rodriguez had an RBI single in the inning and Cameron Satterwhite blasted a two-run home run to center field to cap off the scoring and give Dayton a 12-6 lead. Satterwhite's homer extended his hitting streak to 14 straight games, tied for the fourth longest in Dragons history. It was Satterwhite's fourth homer of the year and second in the last two games.

Fort Wayne responded with two runs against Dragons reliever Junior Martinez in the seventh, but Dayton's Pfister answered with a long home run off the wall of the left field concessions building to give Dayton a 13-8 lead. It was Pfister's fourth homer of the season. Dayton added two more runs in the seventh to build a 15-8 lead and held on for the win.

Dragons starting pitcher Justin Walker (2-8) earned the win. He worked six innings, allowing nine hits and six runs (five earned) with no walks and five strikeouts.

The Dragons finished with 17 hits. Rodriguez led with way, going four for five. Nurre had three hits, and Pfister, Fleury and Alex Oliveras each had two hits. LaMarre extended his hitting streak to nine straight games. Dayton's 15 runs and 17 hits both represented season-highs.

The Dragons (1-3) host Fort Wayne (1-3) again Tuesday at Fifth Third Field in the second game of the series. Ricky Bowen (1-1, 5.48) will get the start for the Dragons against Jerry Sullivan (5-3, 3.72). The series will conclude on Wednesday with Tim Crabbe (1-0, 1.25) on the mound for Dayton against TinCaps left-hander Mike Watt (3-4, 3.52).
