
Dragons WING Player of the Month Nominees Announced

DAYTON, OH - For the fifth consecutive season, the Dayton Dragons and 1410 ESPN Radio WING AM have teamed up to honor the Dayton Dragons 1410 ESPN Radio Hitter and Pitcher of the Month. Fans can log on to www.daytondragons.com and vote for the best Dragons players over the past 30 days.
Each month, three hitters and three pitchers are selected as nominees based on their performances on the field. The hitting nominees for the month of June are Cameron Satterwhite, Chris Richburg, and Didi Gregorius. The pitching nominees are Tim Crabbe, Jacob Johnson, and Chase Ware.
The winning players for the month of June will be honored on Thursday, July 1, during an inning break of the game against Great Lakes. Mark Neal, Program Director for WING-AM and host of Dayton Sports Scene, will present the award to the winning players on the field. There will also be a Player of the Month luncheon on July 2 at McDonalds at 3411 York Commons near Miller Lane in Dayton at 12:00 noon. Fans may attend to ask questions to the winning players and receive autographs. The players will be available to the media for interviews.

Hitter of the Month Nominees:
Cameron Satterwhite, outfielder
Satterwhite leads the team and ranks second in the Midwest League in batting average at .405. He also leads the team in base hits with 32, runs scored with 15, and doubles with 11. He has three home runs including a grand slam and 14 runs batted in for the month.
Chris Richburg, first baseman
Richburg leads the team in home runs with five and RBI with 17 for the month to go along with a batting average of .292. He has also added five doubles and has scored 12 runs.
Didi Gregorius, shortstop
Gregorius is batting .306 with two home runs and 11 RBI for the month. He also has four doubles and two triples.
Pitcher of the Month Nominees:
Tim Crabbe
Crabbe has not allowed a run in the month of June covering 17 innings. He leads the league in June ERA at 0.00. He has made four appearances in the month with a 1-0 record. He allowed just six hits with eight walks and 20 strikeouts. Opponents hit just .109 against him.
Jacob Johnson
Johnson is 3-0 with a 2.14 earned run average for the month. He leads the team in wins. He allowed just 13 hits in 21 innings and held opponents to a combined batting average of .173.
Chase Ware
Ware recorded six of the Dragons seven saves in the month of June. He did not have a win or a loss and posted an ERA of 2.13 in eight games. He walked three and struck out 19. Ware has been promoted to Lynchburg.
