Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

LINCOLN, Nebraska - Cody Regis hit his 15th homer, but the Saltdogs fell to the Gary SouthShore RailCats 4-1 at Haymarket Park on Sunday evening.

Regis's homer was his first in three weeks and opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st.

The RailCats evened things up in the 3rd when Marcus Mooney drove in Michael Blatchford with his second double of the game.

Gary took the lead for good with a manufactured run in the 6th. Mooney led off the inning with a single - his third hit of the game - and advanced to third on a pair of groundouts. With two outs and a 2-2 count, Randy Santiesteban drove him in with a single.

Jake Hohensee got the start and allowed two runs over six innings - his second consecutive quality start - but Lincoln was held to two hits in the game for the fourth time in 2019.

The RailCats added two more in the 9th - both charged to Tyler Anderson - when Daniel Gardner drew a bases-loaded walk and Mooney drove in his second run with a sacrifice fly.

After Nick Schulz walked to extend the 7th inning, Ivan Marin singled to put runners on the corners with two outs. Felix Carvallo entered the game and struck out Steve Pascual to end the inning.

The 'Dogs and RailCats conclude the three-game series at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Pregame coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.

The Saltdogs are playing their 19th season in Lincoln. All ticket and promo information can be found at saltdogs.com, and follow the 'Dogs on Twitter/Instagram @saltdogsball.
