Reno Aces News Release
Reno - The Reno Aces (@Aces), in conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks), have announced Vidal Nuño has been recalled and will join the D-backs for tonight's game at Chase Field.
In six starts with the Aces, Nuño is 3-2 with a 3.23 ERA, spanning 39.0 innings. The left-hander issued five walks and has racked up 37 strikeouts. In a start against Sacramento on May 6, he matched a career-high with eight innings, and tied a season-high by recording nine strikeouts.
In a corresponding move, the D-backs have optioned right-hander Evan Marshall (@emarsh31) to the Aces.
Marshall appeared in 13 games with Arizona, posting a 0-2 record with a 6.08 ERA. The right-hander pitched in 14 games for the Aces in 2014 and was 0-1 with a 0.54 ERA, covering 16 2/3 innings.
Nuño is the sixth player to be called up by the Diamondbacks this season, joining A.J. Schugel (@Schug_Knight), Yasmany Tomás (@eltanquetomas), Danny Dorn, Robbie Ray (@RobbieRay) and the recently added J.C. Ramirez.
Schugel, Tomás and Dorn all made their Major League debut soon after they were added to the D-backs' active roster.
