El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

Las Vegas starter Tyler Pill held the El Paso Chihuahuas to one run in seven innings of work during the 51s 3-1 win Monday. The two teams split the four-game series. The Chihuahuas are now in second place in the Southern Division, three games behind first place Las Vegas.

The Chihuahuas took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when an El Paso double steal got Taylor Lindsey to second base and scored Tommy Medica. It was the first time in the series El Paso scored the first run of a game.

El Paso's 1-0 lead held until the top of the seventh, when a former Chihuahua had the biggest hit of the game. Brooks Conrad hit a two-run double off the tall wall in left field to put Las Vegas ahead. Pill added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly later in the seventh inning.

Chihuahuas' pitcher Chris Smith had one of El Paso's best starts of the season in the loss, tossing six shutout innings.
