SYRACUSE, NY - Jeff Frazee made 32 saves, not including four in the shootout, to give the Albany Devils a 4-3 victory over the Syracuse Crunch (6-6-1-3) Friday night at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Tim Sestito, Adam Henrique and Matt Anderson scored in regulation to help end Albany's six-game losing streak and improve its record to 7-9-0-0. The Devils are a perfect 3-0 in the shootout this season.

The game wasn't without the dramatics. In a span of 40 seconds with less than four minutes remaining, the two teams exchanged goals. Henrique forced a neutral zone turnover and Anderson found the puck and appeared to score the game-winner with a wrist shot with 3:10 remaining.

Syracuse's Dan Sexton answered moments later after receiving a homerun pass from Matt Beleskey, creating breakaway opportunity with 2:30 left to force OT.

After a scoreless overtime period, Michael Swift and David McIntyre scored in the first and fourth rounds of the shootout and Frazee made the final save in the fifth round.

McIntyre's shootout conversion avenged a missed opportunity in overtime. After Tyler Eckford saw his rebound pop out in the slot, McIntyre was robbed by the outstretched arms of Crunch netminder Jean-Philippe Levasseur.

Levasseur finished the game with 26 saves, but was bested by Frazee, who earned his fifth win of the season (5-5-0-0).

To start the game, the Devils killed off the first half of a 5-on-3 penalty, but fell behind 1-0 at 8:13 of the first period when Nathan Paetsch slide home his second goal of the season off a pass from Trevor Smith before the second penalty ran off the clock.

The Devils responded thanks to Vladimir Zharkov, who laid a hit, won the puck behind the net and fed Sestito in the slot for a one-timer goal at 13:55 of the first. The goal was Sestito's first of the season, while Zharkov earned his fifth assist and ninth point of the season.

Tyler Eckford, who had the second helper on the Devils' first goal, started the rush that led to an Albany 2-1 lead at 6:28 of the second. Eckford found Anderson through the neutral zone and into the offensive end, creating a 2-on-1. Anderson waited for the Syracuse defenseman to commit and found Henrique near the bottom of the right face-off circle. Henrique's quick stick led to his fourth goal of the season.

Not to be outdone, the Crunch responded before the end of the second period when Beleskey tallied on a play setup by Danny Syvret and Sexton at 13:15 with the man advantage.

The Devils, who are now 5-2-0-0 on the road, continue their upstate swing with a 7:35 p.m. contest at Rochester on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Blue Cross Arena at War Memorial.
