WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames and Adirondack Flames of the AHL, announced Friday that rookie defenseman Brett Kulak has been assigned to Calgary. The Flames travel to Winnipeg to face the Jets on Saturday afternoon, giving Kulak the opportunity to become the fourth player in Eagles history to play in the National Hockey League after suiting up for Colorado.

Kulak, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound blueliner was a fourth-round pick of the Flames in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and played in 39 games this season with Colorado, posting 30 points, including nine goals. Goaltender Tyler Weiman, forward Akim Aliu and defenseman Ben Chiarot also made their NHL debuts after playing for the Eagles.

The Stony Plain, Alberta native has already seen action in 22 AHL games this season with Adirondack, registering nine points in 22 contests.
