Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today that Americans forward, Chad Costello is the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for 2014-2015 season.
Costello, who leads the league with 119 points, has just 24 penalty minutes in 70 games this season. The award is handed out annually to the player who demonstrates the best sportsmanship on the ice, while playing the game at a high level.
The 28-year old native of Johnston, Iowa, is in his first season with the Americans. Costello has been voted Player of the Week twice this season, as well as Player of the Month and Plus Performer of the Month. He was also named to the All ECHL First Team yesterday.
"It's team first in Allen," said Costello. "I have said this a few times this season, I play with some great players who are all working towards the same goal and that is winning a championship. These individual awards are nice, but we have one goal here, and that's to bring the cup to Allen."
