April 10, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans closed out the home portion of the regular season with a 5-1 win over the Rapid City Rush on Friday night, locking up the best record in the Western Conference and home-ice for the first three rounds of the playoffs.
The line of Patrik Valcak, Chad Costello and Greger Hanson did much of the damage for Allen, scoring three of the Americans five goals; Chad Costello his 41st, Greger Hanson his 28th, and Patrik Valcak his 3rd of the year, while Dyson Stevenson and Chris Crane both scored their first with the Americans.
Riley Gill returned to the crease tonight, stopping 24 of Rapid City's 25 shots to pick up his 32nd win of the year. The win also broke Chris Whitley's record of 31 wins, set in the 2009-2010 season. Nolan Descoteaux was voted the number one star of the game, picking up two assists and was a plus four for the game.
The Americans close out the regular season tomorrow night on the road at Wichita at 7:05 pm. The Americans open the postseason at home on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm with Game 2 on Wednesday night. Call 972-912-1000 for tickets or www.ticketmaster.com.
