Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC - Bretton Cameron scored twice and Emerson Clark notched a career-best three points (3a) on Friday as the Greenville Road Warriors (38-19-4), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf, earned their 200th franchise victory in a 5-2 win against the Evansville IceMen (15-47-9) at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Head coach Dean Stork also notched his 200th victory as a professional head coach, while Michael St. Croix netted the game-winner on his 22nd birthday.

With the win, the Road Warriors improved to 21-14-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink this season and clinched the season-series over the IceMen (3-2-0).

Cameron opened the scoring just 2:47 into the first period when he beat netminder Alex Vazzano blocker side for his sixth goal of the season. Clark corralled a loose puck on the wing and slipped a pass to the high slot, where Cameron pulled a quick trigger to make it 1-0.

The lead didn't last long though as Evansville's Phil Bushbacher capitalized on a scramble in front to even the game just 25 seconds later. After a couple of stops in the crease, Missiaen found himself out of position and allowed Bushbacher to pound a backhand shot into the net on the right side. It was Bushbacher's third goal of the season at 3:12.

Evansville took advantage of a two-minute 5-on-3 power play in the middle stages of the first period to gain a 2-1 lead at the 12:09 mark. With Clark (roughing) and St. Croix (tripping) both in the box, Justin MacDonald guided a pass to Daniel Johnston at the top of the point for a one-timer that sailed through traffic and beat goaltender Jason Missiaen glove side.

Despite trailing by one after the first period, the Road Warriors were not phased and responded with four unanswered goals to seal the victory. Cameron's second goal of the contest at 4:26 of the middle frame evened the score, as Greenville's captain knocked home a third chance from the doorstep following multiple shots and chaos at the doorstep. Clark and Sean Escobedo notched the helpers.

St. Croix produced the eventual game-winning goal at 13:52 of the second period when Thomas Frazee and Domenic Alberga teamed up to create a chance at the back door, where St. Croix hammered a one-timer into the back of the net for his 14th goal of the season. It was also Alberga's first professional assist and fourth point.

On a similar play, Chris McCarthy added his 15th goal of the season at 3:04 of the third period to make it 4-2. From the right circle, Sam Noreau filtered a pass to the back post for McCarthy, who jammed home a one-timer that beat Vazzano's blocker.

Dallas Jackson capped the scoring at 11:52 of the final frame when he cleaned up an unsuccessful 3-on-1 break with a bullet from the high-slot. It was Jackson's fourth goal of the season, assisted by Anthony Luciani and Vinny Saponari.

The Road Warriors finished the game 0-for-2 on the power play, but 5-for-6 on the penalty kill. Missiaen (17-15-3) made 26 saves for the win, while Vazzano (0-5-0) stopped 33 shots in the loss.

Greenville outshot Evansville 38-28, marking the 11th consecutive game that the Warriors have outshot their opponent. Greenville has produced 106 more shots that its opposition during that span.
